Ways to the energy transition: How to save the World!
On 8 September, the “Energy Tomorrow” event took place for the tenth time at Palais Niederösterreich under the motto “Just save the world for a moment”. The TPA Group, with the support of the business law firm Schönherr, invited participants to the innovative industry event, which was organised as a certified Green Event and, for the first time, also in hybrid form – in person & as a livestream.
The prominent expert panel dealt with the latest developments in energy efficiency and the feasibility of new energy models. Almost 300 interested participants attended the event in person or via livestream. Energy Tomorrow initiator Karin Fuhrmann, member of the management team at TPA on the event “I am very pleased that so many guests accepted our invitation. It is a matter close to our hearts to point out innovative showcase projects and trends in the energy sector and thus provide positive impulses for alternative paths.”
Climate change: We can achieve the Paris climate goals!
Marcus Wadsak – meteorologist, radio and TV presenter and non-fiction author – then gave a gripping keynote on “Climate Change – Facts vs. Fake & Fiction”. In it, he vividly described the consequences of climate change for our society. The ultimate goal must be to reduce emissions and mitigation and adaptation measures are key. “We can achieve the Paris climate goals – but we have to change our minds and act now. Businesses as well as individuals are called upon to make their contribution to climate protection,” said ORF’s chief meteorologist.
Green Deal: Climate Targets for Austria
Florian Maringer, Climate and Energy Officer of the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology, opened the event and reported on the Federal Government’s package of measures to achieve the climate targets under the Green Deal.
Clean Energy Revolution in CEE
The experts John Barter and Ferdi Klaver, both from GLOBSEC, a global think-tank, addressed the role of the CEE countries in the Clean Energy Revolution. According to the energy experts, the core areas of energy transformation, mobility and real estate play the most important roles for Eastern Europe as well.
Green hydrogen & wind energy
Johannes Becker, TPA partner in Romania, shed light on the role of green hydrogen in the energy transition. In his presentation, the expert focused on the different scenarios and opportunities of this energy source and provided information on dissemination, funding opportunities and current implementation examples.
In his presentation “A boost for wind and photovoltaics in Poland”, TPA partner Wojciech Sztuba took a close look at the development of photovoltaics and wind energy in Poland and analysed the trends of alternative energies that can contribute significantly to the success of the energy transition.
